Blaise Goetschin joins ABS Board

ABS welcome Blaise Goetschin to its Board of Directors as a Member, effective at the beginning of April 2024, following our strategic partnership with Gonet.

Geneva, April 3rd, 2024 – Arab Bank (Switzerland) Ltd. and Gonet & Cie SA are pleased to announce that Blaise Goetschin will be joining the Board of Directors of Arab Bank (Switzerland) Ltd. as a Member and Gonet & Cie SA as Member and Vice-Chairman, effective at the beginning of April. This election follows the announcement of the strategic partnership between the two banking entities, which was concluded on June 1st, 2023. Wahbé A. Tamari and Nicolas Gonet, respectively, Chairmen of the Boards of Directors of Arab Bank (Switzerland) Ltd. and Gonet & Cie SA, commented.

The updated composition of the boards of Directors is detailed hereafter. Arab Bank (Switzerland) Ltd. – Wahbé A. Tamari (Chairman), Jean-Pierre Roth (Vice-Chairman), Nicolas Gonet, Alessandro Bizzozero, Omar M. Kamal, Gérard Lohier, Claude Suchet, Pierre-Olivier Fragnière, Bassam W. Kanaan and Blaise Goetschin. Gonet & Cie SA – Nicolas Gonet (Chairman), Blaise Goetschin (Vice-Chairman), Serge Robin, Alessandro Bizzozero, Sylvie Buhagiar and Henric Immink. Blaise Olivier Goetschin started his career as an Auditor at PriceWaterhouseCoopers in 1982, before working for Crédit Suisse (1985-1995) in Zurich, New York and Geneva, where he was notably responsible for the Swiss Corporate Finance division. He then took over as Head of the Financial department of the canton of Vaud (1995-1998), before heading the Swiss banking subsidiary for the American asset manager Fiduciary Trust (1998-2000). Afterwards, he was appointed CEO of the Banque cantonale de Genève (BCGE,) from October 2000 to March 2024. Mr. Goetschin holds a bachelor’s degree from HEC Lausanne. —
