French-born Richard aka. RVig has been a digital artist since 1999. Having always harbored a passion for art and imagery, RVig chose to study computer science and engineering at the National Institute of Applied Science and at McGill University in Montréal, Canada. This background allowed him to successfully integrate his coding expertise and his interest in art and particularly GenArt which he chose to specialize in.
Over time, Richard developed his own collection of custom scripts, tools, and code, which he continued to update with new ideas and technologies. His work has been showcased at various exhibitions in galleries and events since 2011, including the FTWeekend Festival in London, InkGallery in Geneva, Lausanne Art Fair, Paris Metaverse Summit, and Predict Conference in Dublin.
In 2021, he ventured into the NFT space with the release of his project « Flowers on the leading platform for generative art NFTs Artblocks.io.
His latest collection, « Les Fleurs du Mal » is a series of generative art pieces that draws inspiration from Charles Baudelaire’s eponymous poetry, translating the essence of its 126 poems into evolving ribbons that mimic the structure of the poetry. Each ribbon moves independently, driven solely by the shape and construct of the words, orchestrating a poetic dance between the individual pieces of the book.
