Refik Anadol

Born in 1985 in Istanbul, Refik Anadol is a distinguished figure in the contemporary art world and renowned for his groundbreaking work at the intersection of data, art, and technology. Anadol’s journey led him to the prestigious University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where he earned a master’s degree in fine arts from the Department of Design Media Arts. He continues to contribute to the academic world as a lecturer at UCLA, shaping the minds of future artists and designers.

As the founder and director of Refik Anadol Studio and its research wing, RAS LAB, Anadol has become a pioneer in exploring the narrative potential of data. His studio focuses on discovering and developing data narratives, blurring the boundaries between the digital and physical realms.

His art has been showcased globally in prestigious venues and festivals such as the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Centre Pompidou-Metz, National Gallery of Victoria Melbourne, the Venice Biennale’s International Architecture Exhibition, Hammer Museum in Los Angeles, Dongdaemun Design Plaza, Ars Electronica Festival, Istanbul Design Biennial, Art Basel.
