American artist Jen Stark was born in 1983. Little is known about her childhood but, on the contrary, a lot can be said about her work. Since her studies at the Maryland Institute College of Art, from which she graduated in 2005, Jen Stark hasn’t ceased to create. A colorful conceptual work, marked by nature and the sacred, during which she explores themes such as replication and infinite. Initially known for her paper sculptures, she then tried a variety of supports: wood, metal, paint, plexi, and animation today.
Jen Stark’s art elaborates a system of visuals related to nature and its growth, evolution, infinity, fractals, but also mimetic topographies and sacred geometries. Themes that place the art piece on a subtil thread between optical seduction and perceptual engagement. Artworks that take on the appearance of clouds, traces of mandalas or nautilus, to better reveal geometric forms, this spiritual side that J. Stark wishes to infuse in them.
Over the past 20 years, Stark has exhibited all around the globe, notably in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Thailand and Canada. Recently included in Fortune’s “NFT’s 50”, Stark made history by becoming the first female artist to figure in the Foundation’s top 10 best-selling NFT creators. Her artworks are part of the collections of the Smithsonian American Art Museum, the West Collection, the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, the NSU Art Museum and of the MOCA Miami, amongst others.
