An award-winning Colombian-American multidisciplinary poet and artist, Ana Maria Caballero’s work explores the topics of motherhood and the notion of sacrifice as a virtue, traditions, and how biology delimits societal and cultural rites.
Her poetry and artistry has been recognized worldwide through several accolades including Colombia’s José Manuel Arango National Poetry Prize for her first book “Entre domingo y domingo”. In 2023, her first nonfiction manuscript was awarded the International Beverly Prize while Mammal, her most recent manuscript, was awarded the 2022 Steel Toe Books Award in Poetry.
