Artist, hacker, writer and pioneer, Rhea Myers has been creating art using digital blockchain technology for over 10 years.
Her subject of predilection? Interrogating technology and culture; better understanding the cultural place of digital creativity, to produce new ways of seeing the world today. Her work has seen her engage with the blockchain to critically address the artworld and crypto space.
Drawing inspiration from two movements conceptual art and net art, Myers skillfully addresses the digital art economy and identity through the language of conceptual art and net.art.
Her work was featured in major exhibitions across the globe, including Basel, the Art Science Musuem in Singapore and the Buffalo AKG Art Museum in New York.
« I create digital art that fuses cryptographic systems with the aesthetics of art history, merging the codes of software, culture, and property. This approach draws on conceptual art, net art, and postmodern design, offering a poetic minimalism that invites thoughtful contemplation. Through this process, my work navigates the intricate dynamics of authenticity and ownership in an increasingly online, on-chain world. » Rhea Myers
